Social Ministry’s work extends across a diverse area of health including the building of community water systems, latrine construction., training of health promoters, distribution of food, a maternal-infant program, senior care, pharmacies, housing construction, medical clinics and prevention of infectious diseases.
Our work supports
A Senior Citizen Day Care Center serving 55 poorest of the poor with meals, health care, and recreation.
A town pharmacy and 14 outlets for low cost medicines.
The construction of 23 community water systems with chlorination filters.
Monthly deliveries of food bags to 120 elderly and disabled persons with the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
The construction of 1,865 outdoor latrines for sanitation control in rural communities.
Preventative health care program with 60 trained volunteer health promoters monitoring infectious disease like zika, cholera and dengue,vaccinations, monitors blood pressure and sugar diabetes and provides health education for community residents.
Medical clinics for surgery, eye exams, ultrasounds, and dentistry.
Building of wood burning stoves that use less fire wood and smoke controlling chimneys.
A maternal-infant care program that provides vitamins, protein supplements, monthly weighing of babies until 5 years of age and monitors the health of pregnant women.
